DeenBuddy is designed to be a private, personal companion for your spiritual journey. We believe your faith is between you and Allah (SWT), and your data should reflect that privacy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)

The following data is stored only on your device and never transmitted to our servers:

• Prayer tracking data: Your prayer completion records and streaks
• Tasbih counts: Your dhikr counter progress
• App preferences: Calculation method, madhab, notification settings
• Your name (optional): Used only for personalized greetings within the app

2.2 Location Data

We request location access to:

• Calculate accurate prayer times for your location
• Determine Qibla direction

Your location data is processed on-device or sent to our prayer time API only to fetch times. We do not store your location history on our servers.

2.3 Cloud Sync (Premium Feature)

If you subscribe to DeenBuddy Premium, we use Firebase Firestore to securely sync your data across devices. This includes:

• Prayer tracking data: Your prayer completion records and streaks
• App preferences: Calculation method, madhab, theme settings
• Bookmarks: Your saved Quran verses

This data is stored securely in the cloud and is linked to your device via anonymous identifiers. We do not require account creation or email registration.

Free users: All data remains stored locally on your device only.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be crystal clear about what we never collect:

• ❌ Your contacts or phone number
• ❌ Your photos or files
• ❌ Your browsing history
• ❌ Any biometric data
• ❌ Location history (we only use current location when needed)

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the minimal data we collect to:

• Provide accurate prayer times and Qibla direction
• Personalize your app experience
• Improve app performance and fix bugs
• Respond to your feedback or support requests
• Securely back up your data and sync it across your devices (if logged in)

5. Data Sharing

We only share data with the following services to provide core app functionality:

• Firebase Firestore (Google): For Premium users' cloud sync only
• AlAdhan API: Your approximate location coordinates to retrieve accurate prayer times

No analytics or tracking data is collected or shared.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
• Local data is stored using iOS secure storage mechanisms
• We do not store sensitive data on external servers

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data stored by the app in Settings
• Delete: Clear all local data by uninstalling the app, or request cloud data deletion by contacting us
• Withdraw consent: Revoke location permissions at any time in iOS Settings

8. Children's Privacy

DeenBuddy does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed to be family-friendly and safe for users of all ages.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last Updated" date above.
